“Treasured Family Portraiture”
Family portraiture is produced in two distinctive styles; formal or casual. Casual sessions are informal with the focus being on capturing the family’s spontaneous expressions. Formal photography as well, represents the personalities of the individuals and entails men wearing suit jackets and ties and ladies in skirts or dresses. Photo sessions are commonly at our professional Ottawa portrait studio or at a location of your choice. In home family portraits as well as outdoor portraits in a park environment (weather and season permitting) are also possible.
We also offer “SPECIALLY PRICED IN STUDIO PORTRAIT PACKAGES” that include the session fee and professionally produced photographs. All imagery may be produced in your choice of either colour, black and white or sepia tone. For clients seeking professional photographic wall art portraiture, it is available in many sizes and photo finishing surfaces including our preferred artist’s stretcher frame canvas portraits. Family and children’s portraits combined with canvas mounting and custom print making techniques render stunning, timeless art pieces. Numerous professional services are provided to our clients such as custom printing, correctional retouching, professional albums, presentation display folios, archival acid free dry mounting materials and lamination of your favourite portrait imagery.
*In addition, for the true connoisseur of black and white imagery, we use actual black and white film for your portrait session which is hand developed and hand printed into wall art portraits in our own traditional wet darkroom. This is custom work and receives a great amount of attention to detail in the printing process making these portraits, truly museum quality archival photographs.
*As a hand printer in Ottawa for a duration of 40 years, this service has now become extremely rare and appreciated by clients who truly cherish high quality photographic craftsmanship.
Clothing selection for your photo session is very important! Generally speaking, clients should strive to wear clothing of similar tonality and/or colour. This will produce a theme of continuity throughout the sessions and will ensure that the faces of the people take precedence as opposed to the clothing.
For example: we often suggest to clients that they wear white shirts and blue jeans for a casual photo session so the clothing does not become competitive between each individual. Please ensure that casual clothing does not contain any brand names or labels! Avoid striped or busy patterned fabrics. As a general rule, darker toned clothing will help individuals appear slimmer in appearance and vice versa for bright toned clothing. As a suggestion for a trimmer appearance, wear medium to darker tones such as navy blue, dark greens, greys, burgundy or black. Please contact the studio for more insight if required.
We would like to say thank you for the tremendous job you did on our family pictures. You certainly made our gift giving easy this year as we gave them to all our family members as Christmas presents. Everyone loved them and has found a special place for them in their home. We appreciate your patience and certainly look forward to working with you in the future.

I would like to take this time to send you a quick note with a card of thanks. Thank you for your professionalism and gracious nature during our photo session, and the meetings that followed.
We were anxious before the session; but after your warm greeting, and with your easy nature, I noticed the girls and my husband relax. This then allowed me to relax as well.
You engaged my daughter in the process and that meant a great deal to me. After the session she said great things about the whole experience. We all walked away with a feeling of accomplishment and I was looking forward to seeing the results of the photo shoot.
When the pictures were ready and we came to see you, I can’t tell you how relieved I was to see how attractively the pictures turned out. And, for me, they captured the feeling of the session too.
We really had a lot of pictures to choose from as well. And, with your help Stephanie and I were able to work on the elimination process. (Not once did I feel pressured by you to hurry it along or to take more than what we wanted—very refreshing)
This past weekend when my husband and I went out of town for my father and brother’s birthday celebration, we took their copies to them. The photos were a hit and they kept showing them to visitors who dropped by their house.
So, thank you Jeff and I wish you continued success. I will definitely be referring you to anyone who mentions wanting to have their picture taken.

I just wanted to send you a quick message to thank you again for the beautiful pictures of my family. As you know, the pictures were for my parents as gifts. When my mother opened them up, she cried for about 5 minutes she loved them so much! You did an incredible job. I have shown the pictures to many people, and have already given your name and contact information to three different people: two weddings and another family portrait.
